Who we are

ABDS, Auckland Business Digital Solutions, operates abds.co.nz. We are an Auckland-based digital services business working with clients in New Zealand and internationally.

This policy covers information handled through our website and initial enquiries. If a project involves handling information on your behalf, the arrangements for that work will be addressed separately.

Information we collect

When you send an enquiry, we collect your name, email address, selected service and project message. You can also choose to provide your company name and phone number. If you contact us by email or phone, we receive the information you share in that conversation.

The required form fields let us understand and reply to your enquiry. You do not have to contact us or provide the optional fields. Without the required details and your agreement to their use, the form cannot send your enquiry; you can instead contact us directly.

Our website and mail systems also process technical information needed to operate and protect the service, such as connection information, request times, security checks and delivery results. Our enquiry application keeps protected identifiers and delivery references rather than storing your message in its delivery log.

Please leave out passwords, payment-card details and sensitive documents. The enquiry form does not accept attachments.

How we use it

We use enquiry information to respond, clarify your requirements, prepare a scope or quote, and manage any resulting business relationship. Technical records help us prevent abuse, avoid duplicate submissions and investigate delivery problems.

Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to a marketing list. We do not sell enquiry information or use the details you enter in the form for advertising. Agreeing to let us respond to your enquiry is separate from choosing whether to allow optional website analytics.

Sharing & storage

Website enquiries are delivered to sales@abds.co.nz. People handling enquiries for ABDS may access them to respond and plan the work. Website, email and technical service providers may process information as needed to operate those services. We may also disclose information when required by law.

Information processed by service providers, including Google if you enable analytics, may be handled outside New Zealand. We do not promise that all information remains in New Zealand. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we must have an appropriate basis and safeguards for that disclosure under applicable privacy requirements.

We use HTTPS, access controls and protected server credentials to help safeguard information. No website or email system can guarantee complete security. If you need to share sensitive project material, contact us first so we can agree an appropriate method.

How long we keep it

Different records have different purposes. The short expiry of a security cookie does not delete an enquiry from our mailbox.

Form security state
Protected token and submission-attempt records are eligible for cleanup after 24 hours.
Enquiry delivery records
Delivery references, times and outcomes are eligible for cleanup after 30 days. These records do not contain the enquiry message or your contact details.
Enquiry emails & business records
We keep these for responding to you, managing the relationship and necessary business or legal records. The mailbox does not currently have a fixed automatic deletion period. Contact us if you would like us to review information we hold about you.

Technical cleanup runs as the enquiry service operates; the periods above are not guarantees of deletion at an exact minute. Browser storage has the separate lifetimes described below.

Cookies & analytics

Essential storage supports the enquiry form and remembers your privacy choice. Optional analytics is separate: declining it does not stop you browsing or sending an enquiry.

Form security cookie Essential

__Host-abds-enquiry helps verify submissions and prevent duplicate or abusive requests. It lasts for up to 30 minutes. Blocking this cookie can stop the form working; you can still email or phone us.

Your privacy choice Essential

abds-privacy-v1 in your browser’s local storage remembers your choice for 180 days. It is a preference record, not an advertising identifier. If you clear browser storage or use another browser, you may need to choose again.

Google Analytics Optional

Google Analytics loads only after you choose to allow optional analytics. It helps us understand page visits, broad traffic sources, browser and device information, and actions such as starting or successfully sending an enquiry. With your consent, we also count submission attempts, fixed categories of submission errors and confirmations after a retry, without sending your message, contact details or enquiry reference.

We do not send your name, email address, phone number, project message or enquiry reference to Google Analytics. Our implementation disables advertising consent, advertising personalisation and Google Signals. Google receives technical connection information when its service is used; see how Google uses information from partner sites and Google’s privacy policy.

If you allow analytics, first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_* distinguish visits and sessions. Our setting limits their lifetime to 180 days from creation without extending it on each visit; your browser may expire them sooner. Cookie expiry is separate from Google’s retention of data already collected.

Change your choice at any time.

Use Cookie settings here or in the footer. Turning analytics off stops further optional tracking and removes the analytics cookies we can access. It does not automatically erase data already sent to Google.

Your rights & contact

You can ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access to it, or ask for a correction. We may need enough information to verify your identity before responding. If we do not make a requested correction, you can ask us to attach a statement of the correction you sought.

For a privacy request or concern, email sales@abds.co.nz with “Privacy request” in the subject, or call 0279088880. Include enough detail to help us locate the relevant information, but please do not send identity documents until we agree a suitable method.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Policy updates

We may update this policy when our services or information-handling practices change. The date at the top identifies the current version. Any new optional tracking will need the appropriate choice before it runs.
